Though you all know about some of the stunning features of this powerful device, still, you need to have a close look over its superior performance and the battery life. This is a high performing device with a mammoth battery life. I am sharing a brief review about this device after using it for two months. Let’s have a look.

Software & User Interface

ASUS Zenfone 3 Max runs on Android Marshmallow 6.0.1 and comes installed with Zen UI 3.0. The core functionality of this device remains unchanged. The Google Now feature can be utilized with just a tap. One can explore a number of options in ‘Settings’. Not only this, it has inbuilt gesture technology. I have been using its gesture technology for picking up the calls. Just bring the phone near to the ear and the call will be picked automatically. There are many more smart gesture settings that can be utilized to perfection. I am loving its UI. It’s actually better than most of the other UIs of different brands. It is not buggy, have various additional features and easy to use & understand.

Performance

ASUS has failed to pair its hardware according to the software installed in the device. I found the smartphone a bit sluggish a few times. Zenfone 3 Max comes powered with Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 processor clocked at 1.4 GHz. The 3GB RAM installed in the device makes sure that the multi-tasking can be handled smartly by the device.

But if too much stress is put on the hardware, the smartphone will stutter a bit. I was not able to play the graphic-intensive games with maxed settings on Zenfone 3 Max. Keeping everything apart, the device never heats up even when the performance is stretched to the modest limits. I am totally overwhelmed with its high volume.

It is a casual device. ASUS should have squeeze something extra from the device’s internals with a better software optimization. A few phones having same hardware specifications perform better than it. I also experienced some lag while switching between different apps on Zenfone Max 3. It might be due to the weaker processor and poor clocking speed.

Still the 4100mAh monstrous battery life will stun you. It is good enough to run for 2 days under general usage. I thoroughly enjoyed watching the videos and listening to the music for long hours using this device.

Battery Life

The battery of Zenfone 3 Max earns it a good reputation in the smartphone market. Though the size of its battery has been decreased to 4100mAh from 5000mAh, it can still last for at least two days under normal usage. I have been using the device on 4G networks and the device lasts for 38 hours hen used optimally. It has a standby time of around 38 days under full charge.

You will be amazed to know that the all new Zenfone 3 Max can be used to charge the battery of other smartphones as well. It is acts as a powerbank that can be carried along you at times of adversities. I usually charge my primary device using Zenfone 3 Max as powerbank. It is a powerful device that is worth your money.

The Bottom Line

ASUS Zenfone 3 Max is a stunning device that is optimized to deliver a great battery performance. Though the hardware of this device may disappoint you, but the monstrous battery of 4100mAh is good enough to run for two long days. The smartphone delivers nice performance, but you must avoid playing graphic intensive games on the device. Overall, it is a good deal to buy this smartphone.
